A little update

Since xiao-ahmei has been pestering me to update my blog at her blog and also left a few comments on my blog, I shall comply to her request to update my blog. hahah.

Anyway, PC Fair just ended yesterday and it was a really good one for us.  We targeted about 200 subscribers before the PC Fair but the free gifts were so good that we do not have enough gifts, brochures, subscription forms and survey forms to give out! The response was REALLY good!

I was there for all three days and I was busy collecting money and issuing receipts to the subscribers.  I got to meet my readers, one auntie even asked me and Ken to sign our chinese names on my section and Ken’s editorial.  It’s my first time autographing on my own work and it felt nice.

Anyway, the PC Fair was really a good experience for me.  I have not been to the PC fair since I got my computer there, which was about 5 years back.  Thanks to everyone that came to our booth and also thanks to all the subscribers and the readers of the magazine.  Really appreciated it.  I’d like to say thank you to our CHIP girls for doing a great job.

On another note, my assignments are starting to due, so is the magazine.  I don’t know if I have time to finish everything on time.  I hope I do.

P.S. Xiao-ahmei, I’ve updated my blog, it’s your turn now!

Sorry for not updating my blog

I am sorry for not updating my blog for such a long time. Work has really been piling up. It’ll change from today onwards as the my part in the magazine is done, so that leaves me time to blog.

I’ve been spending too much money lately. I got my iPod Touch, i got an ASUS Eee PC and I am planning to get an IS lens for my 350D and also an iPhone. I might scrap the idea of getting an iPhone. I’ll see how it goes.

Spent my money on this thing

My class just started yesterday. I had a full day class on Sunday, that goes my life. I will be taking two subjects this semester, Strategic Management and Organizational Behavior. Both are interesting subjects but it’s just that I don’t really know if I could cope with it now that I am working.

I have a bit of problem with my course as well. You see, I am majoring in Project Management but the thing is, not many people are majoring in the same major as I am, so there won’t be any classes for it. I’ll have to take a distance learning thing where I can only communicate with my lecturers in Australia, instead of attending lectures in a normal classroom type. I am still thinking if I should go for Project Management. I might just take a general MBA and live with it, not that it’s any bad anyway.

PC Fair is coming and I’ll be at the fair to help out. My magazine has a booth there to sell subscriptions. There will be free gifts and also discounts. Drop me a comment and I’ll tell you where my booth is. Not really ready to reveal my magazine yet (although my name card is posted in my previous entry).

I’ve been attending A LOT of events for the past month. So many that we couldn’t include all the event news in the news section of the magazine. Some of the stuff I got for free in my events:

  • Plenty of T-Shirts (as usual) including one super cool Apple Mac OS X t-shirt
  • Some pens and key chains (also usual)
  • 45 items from Intel’s 45nm processor launch
  • A Cross pen from Samsung’s LCD TV launch (these pens are expensive!)
  • An imported 2GB thumbdrive from Lenovo
  • A 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo from Sony

And the best of all (not really an expensive gift but it’s practical), a mobile phone from LG!

FREE!

The phone is a VERY basic phone that only lets you receive and make calls, SMS, and some very basic functions. It doesn’t event have a camera or a memory expansion slot. Heck, it doesn’t even have WAP functions but I like it. The fact that it is a phone, nothing else, makes me like it even more. I don’t really use a lot of the functions on my Sony Ericsson M600i anyway. The battery life is superb as well and it is super light. I can’t even feel it in my pocket!

Anyway, I’ll post a mini review of the Eee PC in my next entry since Brian linked me

Got my results

I got my results yesterday and it was disappointing.  The subject I was planning to ace and get a distinction, Business Analysis and Decision Making, got C+! How on earth could I get C+ on that? I am pretty sure I did everything correctly on that paper!

The the other subject, Financial Management, which I hoped to only pass and did badly in the exams got B+.  I seriously don’t understand it.  My results are the other way round.  I thought I’d fail this subject or at most, get a C-, but I got a freaking B+!

Something must be wrong!

Twitter, Exams, Coping with studies and such

Ever since I installed Twitter plugins in my blog (I’ve had a Twitter account for a few months now, just not making use of it), I am getting lazy to blog.

I post on Twitter a few times everyday, which practically sums up my events for the day! What is there to blog? Anyway, I’ll still blog as usual and not letting the evil Twitter kill The life of an average guy…(man I need a better title for my blog, any ideas?)

Anyway, I went to the college early this morning for my Financial Management exam.  It was not too bad, should be passable.  I am glad that EVERY question I predicted came out.  Although I don’t know what the answers are, but I think I did good enough to pass, that’s all I asked.

I’ll be burning the midnight oil and talking to the shirping birds tomorrow morning as I just woke up from my slumber.  You see, I did not sleep last night, I was memorising studying for Financial Management the whole night, then I went to college after that.  I’ll be doing the same tonight.

It’ll be my Business Analysis and Decision Making (BADM) exams tomorrow.  I have 12 hours to study for it.  I am not too concerned about this subject as I understand a few topics and this subject tends to use a lot of mathematical formulas, which I am good at.

I hope I could pass my exams this semester and proceed to the second part of my MBA course, which is even more difficult.  I hope I could cope with my studies and my new job and my health and my social life and my writtings in my blog and in myMacBUZZ.

P.S. Check out my first post at myMacBUZZ.  Albeit a mistake, but it’s still my first post!

I have a job! I have a job!

Just came back from the interview I mentioned in this entry and I was offered a job!

Cropped version of my appointment letter

picture-1.png

I will start work next week as I am preparing (erm…going to prepare) for my exams this weekend.

Anyway, I am ok with the pay.  It’s slightly higher than my previous job.  I wanted a higher pay but it’s understandable as I have not been working for nearly 1 year.  So I am quite ok with it.

Anyway, I’ll be VERY busy, according to Ken.  I hope I can cope with it, more importantly, I hope my back problems could cope with the job.

Wish me luck for my exams!
