Feeling very up now…

Yesterday I went to the launch of Samsung’s SGH-F330 at KL Sentral. I met the PR there and they said there will be a lucky draw after the event. Two Samsung SGH-F330 will be given out in the lucky draw.I told them I just won a phone playing Wii last night, and I don’t think I’ll win it again. Nevertheless, I dropped my name card into the huge box.

The event went like usual. Speeches, then dances by the guys from Urban Groove, then Dina from Akedemi Fantasia fame, then Karen Kong!

Karen Kong is HAWT and she has an AMAZING voice!

After the performances, lucky draw time. First name card drawn, this writer from another IT magazine.

When it’s time for the second card to be drawn, I saw the guy taking out a red card. My name card was red. Then he announced.

“The second Samsung SGH-F330 goes to…from CHIP Malaysia and Singapore, Mr. Justin Koh.”

I was shocked, another phone?! And I heard people saying, “WHAT?! He just won a phone last night!” and also “AGAIN?!”

I walked out to accept my prize but it was only a letter. I was supposed to collect the phone from the PR people. Went to see them and they told me the phone is still not out in the market yet. It’ll be delivered to me when it’s available.

So I have three new phones in less than 24 hours. The iPhone, the Nokia 6500 Classic and the Samsung SGH-F330.

I might sell some of my phones but I’ll see what I’ll do with it first.

So what are the odds of winning two phones in less than 24 hours? In my case, it’s pretty damn high!

Feeling a little up now…

I am feeling a little better today. It’s only because I was concentrating on doing my work and also assignments.

Anyway, I forgot that my professor from Australia is in town for a lecture and I was supposed to go to Nokia’s Party. I had no choice because my lecturer is obviously the more important one. I hope Ken understood.

So I went to Kota Damansara Campus, waited for my classmate, went to sixth floor but locked. Walk the whole college but could see where my class is supposed to be. So Vivian called another classmate and they were all in the class, at USJ campus! *fainted*

It was already 7pm and the class was supposed to start at 7 pm. From Kota Damansara to USJ is only about 20 minutes, without traffic. But 7 pm was a super peak period. So Vivian went and I went to Nokia’s party.

Registered myself for the Nintendo Wii challenge and the grand price was a Nokia N82, a RM2500++ phone. They were playing tennis. I practically owned the tennis game! I am good at it when I have my brother’s Wii a while back. I won all my games without even dropping one point!

So I was at the finals, with this other girl, who struggled to came into the finals where I didn’t even break a sweat. Then the emcee said we are changing games for the finals. Boxing! I told myself I’ll lose. Boxing is my worst game in Wii. Even Eileen could beat me in Wii Boxing.

So the game began, we were punching like mad people. I knocked her out, then she knocked me out. End of first round.

Second round, I knock her out again, then she knocked me out again.

Third round, I knocked her out. She got up, I knocked her out again and she got up again! Then she knocked me out and I never stood up. I KOed her more times than she KOed me! The game says I lost, so I accepted it.

I still got a Nokia 6500 Classic, retailing about RM1300++. So it’s not too bad.

Sorry for not updating my blog

I am sorry for not updating my blog for such a long time. Work has really been piling up. It’ll change from today onwards as the my part in the magazine is done, so that leaves me time to blog.

I’ve been spending too much money lately. I got my iPod Touch, i got an ASUS Eee PC and I am planning to get an IS lens for my 350D and also an iPhone. I might scrap the idea of getting an iPhone. I’ll see how it goes.

Spent my money on this thing

My class just started yesterday. I had a full day class on Sunday, that goes my life. I will be taking two subjects this semester, Strategic Management and Organizational Behavior. Both are interesting subjects but it’s just that I don’t really know if I could cope with it now that I am working.

I have a bit of problem with my course as well. You see, I am majoring in Project Management but the thing is, not many people are majoring in the same major as I am, so there won’t be any classes for it. I’ll have to take a distance learning thing where I can only communicate with my lecturers in Australia, instead of attending lectures in a normal classroom type. I am still thinking if I should go for Project Management. I might just take a general MBA and live with it, not that it’s any bad anyway.

PC Fair is coming and I’ll be at the fair to help out. My magazine has a booth there to sell subscriptions. There will be free gifts and also discounts. Drop me a comment and I’ll tell you where my booth is. Not really ready to reveal my magazine yet (although my name card is posted in my previous entry).

I’ve been attending A LOT of events for the past month. So many that we couldn’t include all the event news in the news section of the magazine. Some of the stuff I got for free in my events:

  • Plenty of T-Shirts (as usual) including one super cool Apple Mac OS X t-shirt
  • Some pens and key chains (also usual)
  • 45 items from Intel’s 45nm processor launch
  • A Cross pen from Samsung’s LCD TV launch (these pens are expensive!)
  • An imported 2GB thumbdrive from Lenovo
  • A 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo from Sony

And the best of all (not really an expensive gift but it’s practical), a mobile phone from LG!

FREE!

The phone is a VERY basic phone that only lets you receive and make calls, SMS, and some very basic functions. It doesn’t event have a camera or a memory expansion slot. Heck, it doesn’t even have WAP functions but I like it. The fact that it is a phone, nothing else, makes me like it even more. I don’t really use a lot of the functions on my Sony Ericsson M600i anyway. The battery life is superb as well and it is super light. I can’t even feel it in my pocket!

Anyway, I’ll post a mini review of the Eee PC in my next entry since Brian linked me

A little update

Sorry for not updating my blog recently.  Been busy attending events and Eileen’s assignments.  Work is also a bit tied up.

Anyway, my review on the iPod Touch is up at myMacBUZZ, check it out here. The iPod Touch is really tempting me to get an iPhone.  I know I said that the hype of the iPhone in me is gone but after using the iPod Touch for a few weeks, the hype in me has increased.  I am still thinking if I want to get the iPhone.  I have too many debts to settle first, I wasn’t working for 1 year, remember? My credit card bills are piling up.

Nothing much to update in this entry.  I just had lunch with Andrew, Koon and Christine.  Koon and Christine was in KL attending a wedding dinner.  Had dinner with them, Andrew and Ken last night.
