I am shifting soon. Well, not so soon, but I’ll be shifting in 2010 I think.

We paid a deposit for a property just opposite where I’m staying now. It’s a terrace house but it’s huge compared to the condo I’m staying now. I can finally realize my dream of networking the whole house, making every nook and cranny of the house accessible to the internet.

Not only that. I’ll build a home server where all files are shared and maybe integrate a smart house system into it. Fetures like automatic lightings, security systems, remote access, GSM connection and stuff like that. It’ll be a big project and I am not really well versed with these things yet. I’ll need to do some research, if I have time, and money.

If I have the budget, I’ll also build a HTPC next to every single TV in the house. If not, then only my TV will be equipped with it while the others will have a media player.

The next thing I’ll do is to get a dog. I miss Bolo. We had to give him away when we shifted here since pets are not allowed in condos.

I’ve seen the house last week but it’s at an unimaginable state. I don’t think even a druggie will want to stay there right now. We’ve seen other houses when we were house hunting and my parents got some ideas on how to renovate it.

Right now, my main priority is to wrap this issue up, interview some candidates for the writer position and cut my hair! Adios!

Damn I need to attend more lifestyle events but first, I need to be invited.

This morning, I sent an email out to everyone I know from work, mainly PR folks, informing them that I’ve assumed the duties of Editor and i got tonnes of emails coming into my mailbox, all congratulating me with their congratulatory notes.

I was really touched by that. I didn’t know I was so well received. To put it in a more “bragging” way, I never know I was so popular among the PR people! Before this, I thought it’s going to be hard. I know you’re going to say, “They are PR folks, they have to be nice to editors. ”

However, from the emails I received, it was truly from their hearts. I can tell you that!

I appreciate all your congratulations and you guys made my job easier in the past. Please make it even easier in the future. hehehe. You know who you are. Thank you!

Anyway, I’ve started the magazine earlier this month since it’ll be a tough month. I hope everything goes according to plan and only minor hiccups please (it’s impossible not to have hiccups along the process!).

You want to know why am I so busy these days? I’ll show you pictures. hehe.

Another shot

Oh yeah, I bought a camera for my mum recently when my trusty Olympus mju-400 died some months back. I got the Panasonic LUMIX LX-3.  We had the Leica DLUX-4 with us, which is basically the same camera with a different logo and price tag. I thought it’d be nice to have both of them together.

On another note, this thing in my room has been making loud noises. I think I need a new one.

My official first day is tomorrow.

I felt like I just celebrated Christmas in the office last month and Chinese New Year two weeks ago. I can’t believe it’s July already.

The magazine was sent to print and I hope everything will be fine. As usual, this is the after wrap effect. I can’t sleep, my timezone messed up yet again.

Eileen’s birthday this weekend, one day after her dad’s. I don’t know what to buy for her but I think I’ll think of something when I go Mid Valley tomorrow for an event.

There is no point in this entry, I just wanted to write something. There will be some interesting developments soon. So watch this space.
