CNY gambling session!

Chinese New Year has officially ended and I am now typing this in the office, burying myself into the pile of products and news that was sent over the CNY period.

February is a short month, thus I’ll have to start doing my stuff early, although it’s a little late now but it’s better late than never right?

Anyway, last weekend I hosted a CNY party at my house and invited a few friends over.  It was fun and everyone that was invited turned up, besides Wern Shen (it was my fault anyway)!  Thanks guys!

I wanted to have a barbeque party but the barbecue pit was booked, so no barbecue.  We then started late (it was initially dinner first) at about 10pm.  Huei was the first to arrive, followed by Jason and Chee Minh.

The rest of them came one by one.  Huei took FOUR tolls to come to my hose from USJ.  Poor fella.  But she won enough that night to take four more tolls to go home.  So not too bad lah!

I bought two cartons of beer, my mum cut some fruits and that’s it.  Nothing much to prepare.  I took out the poker chips that I got from XFX in Taiwan, Jason brought his and we played poker, after a few rounds of Black Jack and Chor Dai Dee.

Chee Minh brought his photography gear, a Polaroid and his Holga, Mei Leng brought her super old school half format Olympus PEN EF that made Chee Minh went ga-ga.

Huei was the first big winner that night.  I’m not too sure how much she won in total as she was losing slowly in the end.  Look at Huei’s “transformation, showing her true colours of a chronic gambler!

And finally this! (Please excuse Mel’s hand)

Eddy then jumped back using an RM10 note on the floor that no one claimed, after losing all his money.

Eddy and Huei were basically neck and neck, both winning everyone else’s money and his big break came when Huei had a full house of Queens (pocket queens) against Eddy’s four of a kind of fours (pocket fours)!

Eddy looked like he is crying here, holding his winning cards.

Huei looking at him like she wants to kill him

Mel then came over, to tumpang glory!

I can’t believe that I didn’t take a group picture to show who was in attendance.  The best picture I have (taken by Eddy) is this, where it (partially) shows who was here:

So clockwise from Chee Minh, Jason (hiding at the back of Chee Minh), Wei Zhien, Mei Leng (Partially hidden), Ken, Huei, Mel (hidden behind Lola, AMAZING! Either the diet paid off or Lola gained a little..hehe..), Lola, Me and Chien Yi.  Eddy holding the camera!

It was a fun night and everyone went back at about 5am.  I still have about one carton of beer left.  If Wern Shen was here, two cartons also not enough!

I’ll try to make this an annual affair and next year, I’ll book the barbeque pit 1 month ahead!!

Singapore again

I am going to Singapore again and I should be sleeping now as I’ll need to be in the airport by 7.25 am.  That’s about 6 hours away! My sleeping hours gone hay wire since Chinese New Year.

Anyway, I’ll be attending the LG Prada 2 launch tomorrow at St. Regis Hotel in Singapore.  I’ve no idea where St. Regis is but LG will be handling everything.  So no worries.

I already have the phone with me and I’ll be bringing it along tomorrow.  The last time I was in Singapore, the Singaporean media were using VERY *canggih* stuff.  They were using the Sony XPERIA X1 even when there weren’t any sold in Malaysia, I saw a few Panasonic Lumix G1s, and A LOT of iPhone 3Gs.  They get the iPhone legally, remember?

So this time, the Malaysian media has the phone they are launching! Take that! haha…

Since it’s going to be a day trip, I won’t be bringing anything extra this time.

Only my passport and business cards

My trusty iPod Shuffle tied nicely to my camera bag

And my Nikon D90 coupled with a new Nikon SB900 flash gun!!! I got this today!

I’m also looking forward to meet Gavin, LG’s PR contact as he has a SUPERB custom made watch with *I think* tourbillion movement!. I’ll see if I can get a picture of the watch, with his permission of course!

Back to reality

Chinese New Year came and left and I am typing this in the office. I came back to see all these greeting me.

Yeah, it’s the after-wrap-effect.  I need to clean up the mess and get ready for the March 09 issue.  It’s a short month and we’ll have to start early!
