Koon getting married!

Saturday, February 23rd, 2008

Koon just called and said that his wedding will be on the 28th of March.  I was with Ken when he called and both of us didn’t believe him because all these while he’s been saying that he’ll get married and it never happened.  This time I think it’s real as he has an actual date and they are comming over to KL tomorrow for wedding photo sessions.

So if it’s real, all of us will b travelling up to Alor Star next month.  Koon is the first among the people I know that is my age to get married.  So is this a sign?

ShaolinTiger “dropped by” my blog!

I was checking my Nuffnang status just now and I saw this

ShaolinTiger read my blog! So that makes TWO Malaysia top bloggers that some how came upon my lowly blog. (Nicole, you are the first). Yea, yeah. I know some of you there will say “Cheh, Kenny Sia, Pinkpau and all the other top top top bloggers also read my blog lah! What’s the big deal?”. I have an average of only 10 unique readers and now 2 of them are top bloggers, which makes it 20% of my readers! Beat that!

I was at Text100’s get-together session yesterday afternoon and I met Gareth there. David introduced me as “Justin from Justinkoh.net” even though I went on behalf of the magazine. I guess that’s how he knows my blog and decided to “check it out”, you know, as courtesy mah.

We played Nintendo Wii and I kicked ass (Sorry Garreth, and David) in Wii Tennis. Ken and I had to leave early as we had another event to attend.

Kimberly was there as well. Wondering when is she dropping by. Oh yeah, I kicked her ass in Wi Tennis as well (sorry Kimberly).

Played Wii Tennis with Ken as well. First round he said “testing first”. So I dragged the best of 5 games to 5 games, for him to test. I was also trying some new curving tennis ball tricks my cousin thought me at the same time and I lost to him, BECAUSE I LET HIM WIN AND PURPOSELY DRAG THE GAME TO 5 GAMES FOR HIM TO “TESTING FIRST”. He kept bragging all day. The second game, I didn’t give face, and beat him 3-0. Then he said “OK, 1-1, tie.” but kept on bragging that he is better than me and not going to play anymore.

Luckily he’s my Editor and my good friend. If not, he is dead meat. Ken ah Ken, you are just a guinea pig for me to test out my curve tennis ball tricks lah. I’ll bet you that you wouldn’t stand a chance if I were to play my usual game!

P.S. I didn’t censor my Nuffnang control panel (what do you call that page anyway?) as I am not earning RM5,000,000,000.00 from Nuffnang. I don’t think anyone would want to kidnap me or extort money from my RM30++. I am just a poor blogger.

Valentines

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

This is going to be a very brief update.  I have some photos but I left the camera in the office.  I’ll upload them later.

Chinese New Year has ended for me.  Usually my Chinese New Year ends at the 8th day, where I pray to the “tee gong” (Direct translation: Sky Gods).  It was yesterday, coincided with Valentines Day.

It was the 8th Valentines for Eileen and I and we just had a simple dinner with her friends at Manhatten Fish Market in Sunway Pyramid.  The prices was exorbitant, just because it’s Valentines Day and they changed the name to some lovey dovey name.  There were only 5 items on the menu, four of it were single sets and the last one was a couple set.  We had the couple set for RM59++.  The single sets were RM49++, a total rip off.   It’s the usual fish ‘n’ chips that cost about RM20++ on normal days.  They jacked the prices up to more than double! The only difference between the Valentines Menu and the normal menu was the name, and they added dessert.  That’s it!

I never really do much for Valentines day because everywhere you go is expensive and you’ll have to fight for a table.  Eileen doesn’t think the same way I do.  LOL.  So I have it her way and celebrated with her.  That’s the secret of a nearly 10 years of relationship, tolerance.  Last year we went to Victoria Station, the whole place was practically modified for Valentines.  They have plenty of tables for 2 instead of the usual big tables and their menu was very simple, not to mention expensive.  Food was bland and tasteless, it’s not even hot!

Anyway, after dinner, I took Eileen home, bought her a stalk of plush rose.  I like the fact that these roses never dies, it’s cute and it cost as much as a stalk of rose.  Only RM9.95.

I went back to my grandmother’s house.  They were waiting for me to setup the table, tying the bamboos with some paper offerings to the Gods, the firecrackers and fireworks.  I do that every year, it’s like tradition.  I need to pass this responsibility to my cousins.  I’m too old for that.

At 12am, we prayed, burnt “Yuan Bao” and then the most exciting part, lighting up the fireworks.  I lit up the red crackers first.  After it finished, I lit the fireworks.  Got an SMS from xiao-ahmei, saying “Thousand ringgit fireworks just like that only ar?”. She stays near my grandmother’s house, about 20 seconds away.  It was beautiful lah, what you expect? You think my grandmother house is like KLCC meh? My uncle got the fireworks for free anyway. hehe

Anyway, I’ll be busy tomorrow.  Meeting Nicole for dim sum breakfast, then to Raymond’s house for a small gathering cum CNY visitations with my ex-colleagues.  After that I’ll be meeting Ken, Andrew and Koon for CNY dinner, then clubbing at Scarlet with Yat Yat.  It’s his birthday tomorrow.

Till my next entry, bye bye!

P.S. Happy belated Valentines day for all couples out there and Happy S.A.D. (Singles Appreciation Day) to all the singles out there.  Next year will be different for you guys and gals!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!

Chinese New Year is my favourite time of the year.  I know the last entry I said I’m no longer in the mood but it’s still my favourite time of the year!

I’d like to wish all my readers (all 7 of them) a very prosperous Chinese New Year!

GONG XI FA CAI!!!

Exams coming soon!

Saturday, February 2nd, 2008

I am studying for my exams right now. Xiao-ahmei organized a pre Chinese New Year dinner and asked me to join but I can’t. Study lah…

Frederick called this morning and asked me to join them (my ex-colleagues) for Chinese New Year dinner too but I can’t. Same reason. Study lah…

My exam will be on Monday at 8.30am. There will be another exam on 11th February 2008 (fifth day of Chinese New Year).

So there goes my Chinese New Year mode. There isn’t much Chinese New Year mood for me these recent years. I don’t know why. Maybe I am getting old already. I used to be very excited and prayed that Chinese New Year to come earlier, not anymore.

I have yet to buy my new year clothes. It’s kinda like tradition that one must wear new clothes for Chinese New Year. I have yet to cut my hair. I have yet to buy packet drinks. I need to start doing all the Chinese New Year preparation stuff after my exam!

P.S. I will not be updating my blog that frequent until after Chinese New Year. So I’d like to wish my readers “????“ (Gong Xi Fa Cai)

P.S.2. Yes, I know how to read and write and type in Chinese.

P.S.3. Wish me luck…Please?

EDIT: I don’t know why it doesn’t display Chinese characters.  I’ll find out later.
