2008 resolutions

Last year I made a few new year resolutions.  Lets review them:

  • Get a job before Chinese New Year.
  • Got the job I always wanted, albeit slighly later than Chinese New Year.  Okay, a lot later than Chinese New Year but it’s a job nevertheless. (10%)

  • Pass and hopefully get good results for my MBA course (I registered today)
  • Passed first year of my MBA with all credits.  Hope to pass the second year as well. (10%)

  • Save enough money for holidays
  • Never happened.  Bought too many things. ( 0%)

  • Lose weight.
  • Did that.  Lost more than 10KGs but recently gained back a bit. (20%)

  • Do more excercise.
  • Does physio-therapy count as excercise? (5%)

So in conclusion, out of the 5 resolutions I made last year, I scored 45%! Not bad I must say.

    So this year’s resolutions:

    • Lose weight or just stop getting fatter
    • Save money for holidays to make up for last year’s spendings
    • Do more excercises
    • Graduate with a Master in Business Administration post graduate degree
    • improve on my writing skills
    • stay healthy

I think that’s about it.  I’ll update when I think of more.

What are your 2008 new year resolutions?

The year 2007 at a glance

First of all, Merry Christmas to everyone! I know my wishes are a bit late but it’s better late than never right?

Anyway, Christmas always marked that the end of the year is approaching. This is when everyone will make their new years resolution and also a review on 2007. This entry will be review of my life in 2007. My resolutions will be in the next entry.

I’ve been through ups and downs this year. A very eventful year for me. I’ve blogged most of it here but there are some that I didn’t blog. I’ll try my best to list it down. Please bear in mind that these are not in chronological order, I’ll try my best to put it in that order.

    In 2007, I:

    • visited countless doctors, sen-seis, si-fus, massage therapist as my back problems came back
    • went to Sabak Bernam to help Koon setup his computer networks and at the same time experience village lifestyle
    • celebrated my grandmother’s 80th birthday

    dsc01689-large.JPG

    • had a reunion with John Cumbers when he came to visit us from US
    • was hospitalized for 3 days because my back problem got worse and I went through physical pain that no normal person could imagine

    • had another reunion with Geri, Rachel and friends

    • traded in my Sony CyberShot H5 prosumer camera for a Canon EOS 350D DSLR

    img_0133-large.JPG

    • attended my brother’s graduation in Sydney, Australia

    36.JPG

    • manned my company’s PC Fair booth at the PC Fair with my colleagues and it was fun!
    • felt a bit down for a few days but everything is alright now
    • won two phones in 2 days, lost Nintendo Wii Boxing to a girl
    • got my iPhone

That’s about it.  I’ve had my ups and downs this year, got to know a few new friends (yes, xiao-ahmei, you are one of the new friends), got a job that I’ve been dreaming of and also have access to all the coolest gadgets in the world.

I am also glad that I have the care and support of my friends and family during my period of hospitalization.  I am really blessed that I have you guys to watch over my back, no pun intended.

So let’s just put 2007 behind and look forward to 2008.  Do what you want but set your priorities right.  Have faith in your Gods.  Be kind to everyone and most of all, start the new year with hope.  Let’s embrace the new year together and be happy and healthy

    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

    Work and assignments

I won’t be updating my blog very often until Christmas.  The reason is because I will be VERY busy with my assignments and my work.

Both my assignments will due this Friday and I have only done about 2% of it.  I have only started a bit on one of it.  I haven’t even started on the more taxing one.  The magazine is due on Christmas.  I hope I’ll be able to finish everything on time.

I don’t really know if I could cope with my studies and my work at the same time.  It’s too late to defer my subjects this semester.  I hope that I could just pass this semester and really think about only taking one subject next semester, instead of taking two, like what I am doing right now.

This is what I have to pay for procrastinating my stuff.

Ken, if you are reading this, don’t worry.  I have my priorities set and I’ll deliver my stuff to you on time.

I’m going to do a short (and VERY overdue) writeup on my ASUS Eee PC after I finished all these stuff.

I am also in the in the process of writing a theory of mine on Apple products for myMacBUZZ.  The article is far from done but I have drafted it long time ago.  I’ll also be writing a short review and also an article on my iPhone in myMacBUZZ as well and also how to unlock it using the TurboSim method (the method I used to unlock my iPhone).

In case I don’t blog on Christmas eve, I’d like to wish all my readers a Merry Christmas and God bless you.

    Off to my assignments!

    Feeling very up now…

Yesterday I went to the launch of Samsung’s SGH-F330 at KL Sentral. I met the PR there and they said there will be a lucky draw after the event. Two Samsung SGH-F330 will be given out in the lucky draw.I told them I just won a phone playing Wii last night, and I don’t think I’ll win it again. Nevertheless, I dropped my name card into the huge box.

The event went like usual. Speeches, then dances by the guys from Urban Groove, then Dina from Akedemi Fantasia fame, then Karen Kong!

Karen Kong is HAWT and she has an AMAZING voice!

After the performances, lucky draw time. First name card drawn, this writer from another IT magazine.

When it’s time for the second card to be drawn, I saw the guy taking out a red card. My name card was red. Then he announced.

“The second Samsung SGH-F330 goes to…from CHIP Malaysia and Singapore, Mr. Justin Koh.”

I was shocked, another phone?! And I heard people saying, “WHAT?! He just won a phone last night!” and also “AGAIN?!”

I walked out to accept my prize but it was only a letter. I was supposed to collect the phone from the PR people. Went to see them and they told me the phone is still not out in the market yet. It’ll be delivered to me when it’s available.

The Phone (Googled the picture, I don’t have it yet)

So I have three new phones in less than 24 hours. The iPhone, the Nokia 6500 Classic and the Samsung SGH-F330.

I might sell some of my phones but I’ll see what I’ll do with it first.

So what are the odds of winning two phones in less than 24 hours? In my case, it’s pretty damn high!
