News flash! This Just In…

Computers and Macs

Apple launched its newest Mac, the iMac, recently.  I always wanted an iMac ever since it first came our in 1998.  I was fascinated by it’s all in one design.  Heck, it even saved Apple from closing down and brought Steve Jobs back to Apple.  The iMac was very expensive at the time.  I just bought a Pentium II at the time it was launched.  When the second generation iMac was launched, it was even nicer with it’s LCD monitor.  The only thing that stopped me from buying an iMac was the price and also the Mac OS.  It’s a totally new interface for a Windows person like me.

Times have changed and Apple collaborated with Intel to produce Intel Macs, that’s when I got my first Mac, a MacBook, and I loved it ever since.

There are pros and cons for using a Mac.  Let’s face it, More than 80% of the world’s computers run on Windows.  Software and compatibility with the Mac is always an issue.  I know you could run Parellels or Boot Camp, but why buy a Mac but use Windows?

My desktop PC is more than 5 years old.  I told myself if my desktop breaks down beyond repairs, I’ll get an iMac but being a computing guy, my computer almost never breaks down *TOUCH WOOD*.  Everytime it breaks down, I could repair it myself.  Maintenance cost is very minimal.

I know you are wondering, how could someone like me (computing person) could use ancient computers like this.  Well, I don’t play games, I don’t do a lot of process hungry stuff.  My computers are just for internet surfing and also some simple word processing.

Anyway, David from myMacBUZZ asked me if I would like to contribute to myMacBUZZ by writing stuff about Macs and iPods and all things Apple.  I agreed without thinking much.  I’ve always wanted to write stuff to magazines and websites ever since I got access to the internet.  I like it when they have the newest stuff to play with and they have first hand information.  I know I am not an early Apple user but I’ve been reading Apple’s stuff on Wikipedia, on the internet and everywhere.

David wanted to pay me for contributing to myMacBUZZ but I refused.  The love I have for Apple can not be measured in dollar signs.  I’ll be writing my first post very soon.  So go to myMacBUZZ and check it out guys!
