News flash! This Just In…

Master of Business Administration

Last week, I started my first MBA class, or should I say my first class in nearly 3 years.  I got my degree in July 2004.

I first got the “Study Materials” when I paid my tuition fees in full, I went through the two “Study Materials” i.e. Marketing Strategy and Business Computing.

Marketing Strategy is a totally new subject to me, so everything I read in the “Study Materials” are quite new to me.  Business Computing was a piece of cake, with chapters like “Introduction to Computers”, “Networks”, etc.  I told myself if I don’t ace Business Computing, I’ll cut my head off and kick it like a ball.

So last Saturday, I went for the orientation.  The program coordinator explains the courseworks, examinations, plagiarism and other stuff like that, then refresements(yay!).

On Sunday, I had to wake up at 8am, go to the college to find that the morning market is just next to the college, I had to search for a parking and walked for quite a distance to the college.  The first class was Marketing Strategy.  The subject is totally new to me.  I understand only about 30% of the stuff the lecturer said.  The lecturer was quite nice and he used the “Study Materials” quite a bit.  The class ended at 1pm.  Four hours of lecturing is really killing me.  Luckily for the breaks in between, and refreshments(yay again!).

At 2pm, I attended the Business Computing class, a class I thought I could sleep in.  The first thing the lecturer said in the class is “I am not touch the Study Materials, please buy the text book”.  I glanced through the text book, there is nothing about computers!  I freaked out as I thought this class is supposed to be a computing class which I can ace and sleep during class.  I was wrong, dead wrong.

As the lecture went by, I am beginning to feel that the subject is harder than Marketing Strategy.  As a Computer Science graduate, when a computing subject seems harder than other subjects, you’re doomed.

I paid the tuition fees in full, no way I am going to withdraw(I wasn’t planning to anyway).  All I can hope now is that I pass all the subjects, get my MBA and graduate.
